Juan Cruz
On December 9, 1998, Arizona State Trooper, Juan Cruz, was killed in the line of duty (https://www.azdps.gov/colonel/fallen) in Tucson at I-10 and Ruthrauff Rd., protecting and serving the great state of Arizona. Mr. Cruz was a devoted family man and dedicated trooper that is remembered for his brevity and service to AZ.
The State of Arizona recently rebuilt the I-10/Ruthrauff interchange and added a new overpass. In December 2020 we submitted a formal application to the Arizona State Board on Geographic and Historic Names requesting that the new overpass be named after fallen trooper Cruz. We’re now officially on the board’s docket for consideration at their next meeting and we’re asking for your support!
Ways you can help:
1. Attend the meeting in person. It will be held on Tuesday, July 26th at 10am, 1901 West Madison Street, Phoenix, AZ. 85009.
