Above & Beyond the Badge

Above, Law Matter live weekly radio show honors all 44 members of our Tucson Police SWAT team for answering a record number of 255 callouts in 2022. These callouts are over and above their regular duties as amazing Tucson Law Enforcement members.  The team was awarded an acknowledgement to hang on the training center wall and each member of the 2022 SWAT received a challenge coin. We feel they really don't get the Thank Yous they should for all their dedicated hard work. We have an awesome SWAT team. We thank you for your service!

Above is the TPD K9 Unit, and while we did not get everyone in one spot to hand out their awards, we did get to meet some amazing people. 1086 Deployments, 1038 Patrol Deployments and 420 Arrests for 2022. A very busy K9 team.

Pictured above is Oro Valley Deputy Chief Jason Larter who retires from the Police Department on January 26, 2023, after a 35-year career. Jason was presented a certificate and challenge coin at the Pima Federal Credit Union corporate office, where he volunteers as a Board Director.

Above, Sheriff Waters is seen presenting the Law Matters “Above and Beyond the Badge” Award and Challenge Coin sent for Deputy Me’Atia Sanderson acknowledging her heroism.

We lost an amazing man in Jim Kolbe. He was a friend decades before Law Matters was on the air. He knew this Independent voted for him at every opportunity. This loss absolutely breaks my heart. Rest in peace Jim, the world would be a better place if more republicans were like you. Thank you for every selfless thing you did for all of us and rest in peace. - S. Harrison
